Commercial Light Poles for Street, Solar and Area Lighting
Commercial light poles are structural and procurement components, so a useful quote starts with mounting load, projected area, height, arm and fixture configuration, site wind basis, corrosion exposure, foundation responsibility and local design code. Inlux supplies pole options for street, solar, area, parking, high-mast, traffic and decorative lighting projects. The proposal should identify the exact material, geometry, finish, calculations, drawings, anchor hardware, tests, delivery scope and exclusions for the quoted pole—not apply one height, coating or wind rating to every project.
Commercial Light Poles: What to Send for a Quote
A pole quote is comparable only when every supplier uses the same structural, finish and delivery basis. Send the items below before choosing a pole family.
| Entrada | What to provide | Why it changes the pole |
|---|---|---|
| Application and location | Street, parking, solar, flood, sports, high mast, traffic or decorative use; project coordinates and authority | Sets the governing project criteria and owner |
| Geometry | Overall and mounting height, shaft shape, outreach, arm count, top or side entry, base plate and door requirements | Defines the quoted configuration and interfaces |
| Attached equipment | Luminaire, PV module, bracket, camera, banner, sensor, antenna and cable weights plus projected areas | Changes structural loading and attachment details |
| Environmental loads | Project code, wind basis, terrain/exposure, importance/risk category, corrosion class, temperature and ice where applicable | Prevents a generic wind-speed claim from replacing a project calculation |
| Material and finish | Steel/aluminum grade, galvanizing/coating standard, color, surface preparation and inspection requirement | Makes coating thickness and corrosion claims testable |
| Civil interface | Foundation responsibility, geotechnical basis, anchor cage/bolt scope, conduit entries, clear-zone and breakaway requirement | Separates pole supply from site-specific civil design |
| Documents and tests | Calculation, drawing, weld/coating records, material certificates, sample approval, inspection and professional seal requirement | Defines what evidence is included rather than assumed |
| Commercial scope | Quantity, destination, Incoterm, packing, delivery sequence, installation, spares, warranty and acceptance terms | Allows like-for-like RFQ comparison |
If hot-dip galvanizing is specified, name the applicable edition and product scope; the current ASTM A123/A123M page explains the covered iron and steel products. For structural loading, the project engineer should name the adopted code and amendments; the ASCE 7 overview shows why wind and other hazards cannot be reduced to one universal speed. These references do not certify an unquoted pole.
Review the poste de luz y poste de luz solar para calle product pages, or compare vertical-PV solar pole lights y iluminación solar de mástil alto. For a complete system rather than pole-only supply, use the pole-and-battery package guide. Then send the drawings and loads for an RFQ.
Commercial Light Poles by Application
Choose the pole family by attached equipment, structural requirements and supply scope.

Poste de alumbrado público
For street and roadway luminaires. Quote the exact height, shaft geometry, arm or top-entry interface, material, finish, base and structural design basis for the project.

Poste de alumbrado público solar
For solar luminaires and separate PV assemblies. Include every panel, bracket, luminaire and cable load in the quoted geometry and structural calculation.

Poste de luz para inundaciones
For area, yard and parking floodlights. Provide fixture count, aiming, projected area, maintenance access and site loading criteria before selecting the pole.

Poste de luz de mástil alto
For large-area lighting where a fixed-head or lowering system is project-specified. The headframe, luminaire loads, hoist, maintenance and foundation scope must be defined in the quote.

Poste de iluminación para estadio
For sports and venue lighting. Start with the final fixture schedule, aiming plan, attachment loads, access method, glare limits and adopted structural criteria.

Poste de semáforo
For signal or gantry applications only when the traffic authority’s geometry, loading, breakaway, finish, wiring and approval requirements are supplied.

Palo multifunción
For combined lighting, camera, banner, sensor or communications attachments. List every device, projected area, cable route, access panel and responsibility boundary.

Poste de luz decorativo
For parks, plazas and streetscapes where appearance and structural duty are both specified. Quote the material, finish system, color, ornament interfaces and project loading basis.
How to Compare Commercial Light Pole Quotes
Compare the exact order code, drawing revision, material, weld requirement, finish specification and structural design basis—not a family-level compliance claim.
State the galvanizing or coating standard, required thickness, preparation, repair method and inspection evidence for the quoted pole and project environment.
Select height and geometry only after equipment loads, projected areas, wind/code inputs, clear-zone constraints, maintenance access and foundation responsibility are confirmed.
Materials, Galvanizing and Coating Scope
The finish schedule must be quoted for the actual material and exposure. Ask for the galvanizing/coating standard, surface preparation, nominal or minimum thickness as applicable, color system, inspection method, repair procedure and handling protection. Service life depends on environment, design details, installation damage and maintenance; it is not guaranteed by a generic coating label.
Commercial Light Pole RFQ Inputs
- Height and geometry: state the exact quoted overall/mounting height, shaft section, arm, top interface, base plate, access door and equipment arrangement for each pole.
- Material and finish: state the exact material grade, galvanizing/coating standard and edition, preparation, required thickness, color and inspection evidence for the quoted order code.

Commercial Light Pole Quote Support
A useful bid package does not promise that one pole fits every authority. It states the assumptions, files, test evidence, commercial scope and unresolved engineering items for the quoted configuration.
| Quote item | What the supplier should identify |
|---|---|
| Configuración | Order code, quantity, dimensions, material, arm/top interface, base, door and attached equipment |
| Structural basis | Named code/edition, project inputs, loads, projected areas, assumptions, calculation responsibility and seal scope |
| Finish | Standard/edition, preparation, galvanizing or coating requirement, color, inspection and repair method |
| Documentos | Drawing list, calculation, material/coating/weld evidence, inspection plan, packing list and revision status |
| Interfaces | Luminaire/PV/bracket fit, cabling, anchor cage, foundation data, installation and acceptance responsibility |
| Commercial terms | Incoterm, destination, packing, delivery sequence, exclusions, warranty, spares and change-control process |
Remote monitoring, cameras, banners and communications hardware are separate attachments and system scopes. Include them only when their loads, interfaces, power, data, cybersecurity and maintenance responsibilities are defined.

Pole Documents and Certification Scope
Certification counts cover different products, tests and scopes. For a pole quotation, request the exact document number, holder, product/model scope, standard edition, issuing body and validity needed by the project; a company-wide total does not prove that every pole meets every specification.

Street and Solar Light Pole Applications
Commercial light poles should be selected from the site task and attached equipment, not from an application label alone.
Commercial Light Pole FAQs
Do your light poles comply with EN40?
Where EN 40 or another pole standard is named, the quotation should identify the applicable part and edition, pole configuration, calculation and required third-party or project approval evidence. Internal QC alone is not a universal certification statement.
What anti-corrosion system do you use?
The quote states the material, galvanizing/coating standard, preparation, required thickness, color and inspection evidence for the project environment. Do not assume one coating build-up for every pole.
Typical wind resistance?
Wind suitability is project-specific. Provide the adopted code, wind basis, terrain/exposure, risk category, attached equipment and projected areas so the quoted pole can be checked.
Can you supply foundation/anchor-bolt drawings?
The quote will state which pole/base and anchor details are included. Site-specific foundation design depends on structural loads, geotechnical data, local code and the contract responsibility matrix.
Can you provide IES files and photometric layouts?
IES/LDT files belong to the selected luminaire, not the bare pole. A photometric layout can be scoped with a complete lighting-system proposal when the road or site criteria are supplied.
