Why IES/LDT is non-negotiable
- High mast performance is defined by distribution + aiming + spacing, not “wattage charts”.
- IES/LDT + simulation is the only defensible way to verify targets and uniformity.
- Photometrics also reveals glare and spill risk in yards, ports, and stadiums.
Inputs required (copy/paste)
Project location: Application (highway / yard / port / industrial / stadium): Area geometry (road width or area dimensions): Pole height (m): Pole spacing / layout constraints: Mounting positions (single-side / double-side / corner / perimeter): Target illuminance (Avg lux): Uniformity target (if specified): Optics preference (Type III / IV / V / Not sure): CCT / CRI: Glare / spill constraints (nearby roads/houses): Environment (coastal / desert / humid / normal):
Deliverables checklist
- IES/LDT files for each luminaire option + optic.
- Simulation files/outputs (DIALux/AGi32): layout, calculation grid, results tables.
- Layout proposal: pole heights, spacing, aiming notes, assumptions clearly stated.
- Targets: average lux + minimum + uniformity (define which uniformity metric is used).
- Glare/spill notes: shields/visors/tilt limits if required.
- Lista de materiales: luminaires, brackets, wiring, accessories.
Métricas de aceptación (qué mostrar)
- Average illuminance (Avg lux)
- Minimum illuminance (Min lux)
- Uniformidad (Min/Avg or Avg/Min — specify which is used)
- Calculation grid and area boundaries
- Aiming/tilt limits to control glare/spill
- Supuestos: pole height, spacing, mounting, optics, CCT, depreciation factor (if used)
Cláusulas de solicitud de cotización (copiar/pegar)
- El proveedor debe proporcionar IES/LDT files for the proposed luminaire/optic.
- El proveedor debe proporcionar un DIALux/AGi32 layout proposal with Avg lux, Min lux, and uniformity results.
- All assumptions must be stated: pole height, spacing, mounting arrangement, optics type, CCT/CRI, glare/spill constraints.
- Bids without IES/LDT + simulation outputs are non-compliant.
Trampas habituales en las licitaciones
- “Wattage comparison” without optics/IES = not comparable.
- Layouts that omit uniformity or hide assumptions.
- Using a different optic in simulation vs the quoted product.
